During boot time, you may select which services to start. For instance, I like to keep init 2 at a minimum (just CLI) and leave the DM for init 3.
In this comeback, that’s precisely what’s happening. Using update-rc.d, to select carefully which processes on my life are worth starting. It’s all a negotiation of effort in favour of profit; resources for functionalities..
I guess that by carefully selecting running services, you can prioritise services that are most in demand, and that’s whats happening with me right now :-/
